To ensure our students have a safe and fun end of the school year, the following measures will be effective as follows:
In-person students must return all devices, textbooks and band instruments tomorrow, June 1st. If needed, the student will have access to their device while on campus.
The use of backpacks by students will not be allowed starting Thursday, June 2nd. Small personal items needed by students can be brought in a clear bag.
Backpacks and bags of any type will not be allowed into any school functions by guests/visitors starting June 1st.
All campus events on June 7th are for current in-person and virtual students only.
For elementary school students, please disregard the need to bring sunblock, a towel, an extra set of clothes, and a water bottle.
Sunblock and bottled water will be provided by the schools for events on June 7th.
JVPS staff will continue to routinely check all entrances and exits for locked doors.
Please note all of these measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution. Jemez Valley is in the process of advertising for a JVPS school resource officer. A survey regarding this position will be sent in the near future.
In the recent days, staff have observed an increase of energy drinks brought to school by students. Please note energy drinks are not allowed. Effective tomorrow, June 1st, only bottled water will be allowed by students.
Your cooperation and understanding is greatly appreciated.
